President [2009–2010] Katherine Fouché holds an M.A. in Applied Linguistics from the University of South Florida and a B.A. in French from Mount Holyoke College. She is bilingual in English and French. She served for two years as the specialist for the ELP program at ESL Services, UT Austin, and she teaches in the ELP & AEP programs. She has also taught at Kyoungpook National University in Daegu, Korea, as well as UDLA, A.C. in Mexico City. Past President [2009–2010] Linda Munoz, PhD, has taught ESL for 25 years to international students in university intensive English programs and to refugees and immigrants in adult literacy/community education programs. Currently, she is a doctoral candidate at Texas State University, a grant specialist and Master Teacher mentor for the Central Region GREAT Center, and an instructor at the Texas State Intensive English program. pastpresident@textesol.org
Secretary [2008–2010] Jacques Hardy is currently a PhD student in Foreign Language Education at the University of Texas, with a specialization in ESL/EFL. A native of Texas, he has taught English in Japan, Taiwan, and Spain. He is currently teaching ESL at the Texas State Intensive English program at Texas State University. His interests are student motivation, intercultural communication, collaboration in language learning, and sociocultural theory. secretary@textesol.org
Co-Treasurers [2008–2010] Dr. Harishini Ernest has a PhD in Applied Linguistics from the University of Texas at Austin. She has taught K-12, community college, and university levels, and has been involved in educational consulting, program evaluation, administration, and teaching since 1984. Professionally, she is an ESL Coordinator with Austin ISD where her responsibilities include teaching, teacher mentoring, and curriculum development. treasurer@textesol.org Jill Rolston-Yates has taught EFL in Japan, ESL in Intensive English Programs at University of Hawaii and Texas State, San Marcos, and ESL to immigrants and refugees in Adult Schools and the Cambodian Family Literacy Program in Southern California. She has also authored two English Conversation texts, Genbai no Eikaiwa, 1 & 2, with GEOS publications, Japan. She holds a BA from Whitman College in Psychology and Theater, an MFA from the University of Hawaii in Asian Theater, and an Adult Education Credential in ESL from the University of California, Los Angeles. Newsletter Editor [2008–2010] Hayriye Kayi did her undergraduate studies at the Middle East Technical University in Turkey where she earned a BA degree majoring in English Language Teaching. She received her MA degree in TESOL from the University of Nevada, Reno. Currently, she is doing her PhD in Foreign Language Education with a specialization in ESL at the University of Texas, Austin. Sociopolitical Concerns/Advocacy Chair [2008–2010] Ronit Ricoy, M.S. Education/TESOL, has worked as a teacher, trainer, coordinator, director, and consultant in the ESL field. Her consistent focus has been Adult Education ESL, but she has also served as the director of a rural Guatemalan secondary school, taught History and Government in a U.S. high school, and worked in a K-12 ESL after-school program. She is currently the Spanish Community Coordinator at Hill Country Bible Church NW, where she teaches Citizenship and coordinates other community outreach. advocacy@textesol.org

Delegate-at-Large, Adult Education [2010] Denise Guckert earned her MA from the University of Texas at Austin - Foreign Language Education Center in 1986 and also holds a Texas Secondary Teaching Certificate for English, Spanish, and English as a Second Language. She has been involved in adult education for over 20 years, serving as an instructor, technology coordinator, and coordinator. Currently the Coordinator for Texas Central GREAT (Getting Results Educating Adults in Texas), Ms. Guckert develops, implements and coordinates professional development for adult education administrators, teacher trainers, teachers and teacher assistants.
